AN ENGENE'S LIFE .PT 1

   I had just returned back to school after our break. I ran through the gate and straight to my class ready to tell my desk mate and fellow k pop fan, Thelma, all that i found out about our idols when a boy in my class, Al, came up to me. "What did you do during the break, huh?", I was about the answer but seems like the girls in my class had that ...covered.

"Is that a question to ask?, you know she was listening to those skinny and pale chickens."

 "It's obvious, you didn't need to ask... I mean that's all she does"
   

     I brushed them off and turned to Al, "I watched some of the vlogs Jay posted that I missed and I also watched Jay's fan cams. ". Al sighed deeply and looked at me with disappoint. "Jay doesn't even know you exist. You haven't even seen him in person yet you waste your time watching his videos. It's a little concerning". I was looking for words but nothing came. I looked around me and everyone agreed with him and looked at me with disgust.

"Even the teachers are scared."

"This nonsense will kill her"

"She is so delusional"

   Their words hit like arrows. I was filled with a mix of pain and anger. They didn't know what Enhypen had been through just to debut. They didn't know how tough I-Land was, they were away from home, no family just a dream and will. They didn't know the tears, the blood and sweat that went into every song and they judged them and me for loving them.

   They didn't know that it was because of these 'pale chickens' that I am still alive. They don't know how much they improved my mental health, how they saved lives. 

    

    I got up and stood in front of Al, unfazed by his height. I looked him dead in the eyes and whiles containing my tears , I spoke in a calm tone, "I am sorry but does Ronaldo know you exist?", the whole place fell silent. "You haven't been to any of his games but you have every single jersey and you spend hours watching his games online. Don't you think it is a little concerning, huh? "

"It's different"

"How different?...we are all fans aren't we?"

"Ronaldo has been through a lot. Do you know how hard it is to even compete in a World cup?"

   "And Enhypen hasn't?...do you know how hard it is to leave your home just to accomplish your dream. `Do you know how hard it is even to attend Coachella?!", I started to shake with tears. "The hate, the threats, the broken bones... you have no idea but you judge them. How heartless can you people be?", I ran out of the class with tears in my eyes, I wasn't going back to that place any longer.
